Rustyn James Powell

September 11, 1982 - July 19, 2021

Rustyn James Powell, a resident of Taylorsville, UT, died unexpectedly of an accident on July 19, 2021 at the age of 38.

Rustyn is survived by his mother Christy Powell; his daughter Rylee Butler; his brother Jon Arguello; his grandparents Beth and Cliff McCallum; his aunts Cynthia McCall, Donna Mallory, and Lisa Marx; his life partner Anastasia Clark; as well as many loving cousins.

Rustyn was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on September 11, 1982. He graduated from Taylorsville High School in 2001 and attended Salt Lake Community College where he studied Civil and Environmental Engineering. He worked as an Account Manager for Summit Risk Management & Insurance. In December 2010, he welcomed his beautiful daughter to this world. She was the most important part of his life.

Rustyn was a devoted father and avid sports fan. He throughly enjoyed cheering on his beloved Utah Utes and San Francisco 49ers. His enthusiasm for life made everyone around him happier and was always a friend to everyone. He also enjoyed traveling for the adventure this beautiful world provided. His love of animals was keenly obvious to all those who knew him. He could often be found at his grandparents house doing chores and projects with joy in his heart. His dedication, love and loyalty to his daughter, Rylee, was as abundant as his love for life itself.

A Celebration of Life will be held at one of his favorite places, Murray Park Pavillion #2 on July 29, at 4pm until 10pm. An outdoor event with friends, family and loved ones. This will be a true Celebration with activities for children, grills, laughter, love and tears!

In Loving Memory

Thank you for all of the beautiful memories we got to share. I will cherish every moment, every laugh, every tear, and every life lesson you have taught me in this life.  You will forever be my love and my whole heart. I will miss you dearly everyday! You were my partner and my best friend... I'm not sure how to live life without you... but I promise to try and make you proud every moment of everyday for as long as I'm here.   Im greatful to have met you and to have met your family and all of the amazing family dinners and holidays we got to share together. We will continue to do all the things that made us all close and we will share memories and stories together forever. You will never be forgotten and I will always make sure of that babe.  We will get through this as a family...and with you watching over us.  I love you so much Rustyn! Forever my favorite hello, and my hardest goodbye.  Until we meet again babe <3
