Sandra passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 23rd, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on May 3rd, 1948 to Forest R. and Estelle Ernest Hemminger. Sandra lived in Grand Island, Nebraska with her parents until 1955. Afterwards her father moved to California for work and the family followed later.
She attended John Glen High School and played piano for the school choir. Sandra further studied to become a concert pianist and also studied nursing.
Married Gary Wayne Marshall in November 1976. Together they lived for a short period of time in Arkansas and Vernal, Utah. They finally resided in Magna, Utah, until her husband passed in 1993.
In 2006 she moved to Virginia City, Montana and worked at a community hospital in Ennus, Montana. In 2007 she moved back home to Magna.
Sandy and Eldon met in December of 2009 and married that following May. Most of her employment was with Utah Non-Profit housing as Resident Assistant Manager.
Some of her favorites activities were yard sales, discount store shopping, and antiques; playing the piano, quilting and genealogy. We will miss her great cooking and her caring heart for everyone.
She is survived by her husband Eldon Penman; daughters Tonya Strong, Denise Price, Amber Moller; son Jeremy Marshall; stepsons Sean Johnson and Jeremy Penman; mother Estelle Hemminger; sisters Jean Tillman, Vivian Sherrill and Margie Morgan; along with grandsons and granddaughters. Preceded in death by her father Forest Hemminger, and sisters Cathy Leeder and Nancy DeGoot.

Hey Honor-Thanks for posting this item. I, much like the reeadr who alerted AintItCool, also knew John by way of his daughter(us high school drama geeks are a tight bunch). When I got the email from a friend last week about John's passing i was so saddened. His work was so prolific, but it was his Disney posters that fascinated me the most. Walking into the Alvin household, one was greeted with the poster for Beauty and the Beast hanging in the entryway. My personal favorite was the poster for Aladdin, though,(those are his hands holding the lamp by the way). What I shall remember him the most for is not the artwork but the way he opened his heart and his home to all us kids time and time again. The world has lost a different kind of Disney Legend, one whose name isn't as well known as others, but a Legend none the less. Godspeed, John Alvin...
