Scott Geno Posselli

August 15, 1956 - August 1, 2019

Scott Geno Posselli was born on August 15th 1956 to Fay And Eugene Posselli in SLC, UT.

Scott was one of the greatest men to Grace this Earth, his presence was something words cannot describe. Scott graduated from St. Joseph Catholic high in 1974. He attended some college.  In his younger years he aspired to do many things. He was a bodybuilder that always picked on his younger siblings, He enjoyed dancing, especially with his mother. A concert pianist, garbage man, cameraman for the jazz and many other sporting events. Scott loved nothing more than  to read while listening to rock and roll. (Pink Floyd) His favorite book was the Bible. He was a devout Catholic and even considered becoming a priest.

In 1982 he had his baby girl Brandy soon followed were his two sons Nick and Josh. Scott is survived by his children Brandy (Jason) Clydesdale, Nick (Holly), and Josh (Rachel) grand children Kaylee, Brexton and Talon his sister Gina (Rich) Thomason his brother Paul (Dee) his nieces and nephews Darcy, Brittni, Tony and Joey. Scott was a friend, a listener, a beer drinking, fun having kind of guy.  Most important in his life a Dad , a papa, a  brother, a son, and uncle. Scott suffered from multiple sclerosis from 1991 to present although if you knew him he would disagree. He fought with dignity and pride smiling until his final breath. Scott will always be remembered for his warm heart and amazing soul. Although we are extremely sad,  Scott is free from his limited body and for that we rejoice.  He is our angel that will live on through the examples he taught us. We love you with all of our hearts. Go Jazz, Packers. Cheers old man!!

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of his friends, fellow parishioners and to the whole medical team that has been involved in his life. Trust us the list is long.

A wake in Scott's honor will be held Tuesday, August 6 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 276 East 1700 South followed by graveside service at Mount Olivet 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the M.S. society to combat this horrible disease.

I met Scott when he moved into Heritage Place assisted living. All I can say is that he was one of the finest men I have ever known. He faced his challenges in this life with more strength and courage than most of us can imagine. I know that he will be met with the greeting of "well done good and faithful servant". I never knew his faith to waver. It was my honor to have known him, and I will remember him always.

I worked with Scotty for a year and a half at Avalon Care Center. I spent more hours in his room talking with him than anyone else. He was such a bright light and was always joking around smiling despite his circumstances. I will never forget how happy of a man he was and how much happiness he made me. I used to sit in his room and make him listen to John Denver with me because he was sit and yell at me about how rock n roll is the only way to go. I will always miss all the laughs. Sending my condolences to all his friends and family. He will surely be missed by a lot.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am an in office co-worker at the Friends of MS and just heard from my manager that Scott passed earlier this month. I didn't know him personally, but the office feels his loss. From the picture of him included with the obituary, I have the feeling that he was a happy, good man. I am so sorry for your loss. May God bless your family during this time.
