Sean Michael McCoy
March 20, 1992 - June 19, 2008
Sean Michael McCoy1992-2008 Our beloved son, brother, and friend to all Sean McCoy passed away June 19th, 2008 after an accidental fall. Sean was born March 20th, 1992 on that special day to Margaret M. and Jeffrey J. McCoy. Sean graduated from the Madeleine Choir School, and most recently finished his Sophomore year at Judge Memorial Catholic High School. Sean had 3 brothers, Matt, Dan and Connor, who he loved. He spent a lot of time with his family, camping, hiking, playing tennis and skiing…and playing video games. Sean was very gifted with endless talents. He was an excellent student with a keen mind and a pleasant perspective on life. He was a dedicated altar server at The Cathedral of the Madeleine for many years. He loved to play and perform music from the high school concert and jazz band. There wasn’t a musical instrument that Sean couldn’t play if he put his mind to it. He played varsity tennis at Judge and finished the year as a proud member of the 3A Region Utah State Championship team. Sean made friends wherever he went. He had a pleasant way about him, always quick with a joke. He loved his best friends Max Sharp and Griffin Rowland. Many hours were spent together with his friends playing music. He shall be greatly missed by all his family and friends. We will all miss his music, his wit, and his company. We’ll see you again, Sean. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Music Department at Judge Memorial High School or to The Madeleine Choir School. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24th at 11:00 AM at The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, assisted by the Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine. A Vigil Service will be held on Monday, June 23rd at 7:00 PM followed by viewing and a wake service on Cathedral’s Plaza where friends may greet the family until 9:00 PM, under the direction of Starks Funeral Parlor.
In Loving Memory

Dear McCoy Family, I am the sister of one of Sean's friends and was a classmate of Matt's at Judge. Though I did not personally know him well, I was always so amazed by Sean's fun-loving spirit and care for others. He was a wonderful friend to my brother and his memory will be cherished. Dear Jeff, Marge, Matt, Dan & Connor, My deepest condolences to you. I learned of Sean's accident from Kathy Welch, who was in the SLC area at the time. Most assuredly, we miss those who go before us. But clearly, Sean left wonderful memories and spirit. That spirit you will keep alive because that is what you loved so much. The great memories, wonderful spirit and your family will go a long way to filling the huge void that Sean absences leaves. My best wishes and regards, Margaret Matter
