Sheila E. Anstall

Sheila E Anstall was born in Billingham upon Tees County Durham England on January 8th, 1935. Sheila was the daughter of Matthew Ogle and Frances Mountain Spensley Ogle, and younger sister of Lydia Collins. When WWII ended, the Mountain family operated a lovely old Pub. Sheila was sent away to Boarding School in Saltburn on Sea and her parents moved to Redcar in Yorkshire. Sheila helped her mother in a family-owned bakery and all her life she continued to enjoy this hobby and Gourmet Cooking. 

After graduating from Towers School of girls with an Honors, she applied to Nursing  
Schools in London. Finally, there was a place for her at Queen Mary's Hospital and she began her training in the Nurses Class of 1953 and Graduated in 1955, the same year she graduated from Pitman's College with Honors and a Distinction in English.  

Queen Mary's Hospital was built to take care of the returning soldiers who were burned during the war. Sheila organized so many special occasions for these men and formed a knitting party, so they had mittens to cover their burned hands. She gave them wonderful parties with delicious cakes baked by her talented Mother. 

Sheila had a fairytale wedding on March 2nd, 1957, at the Hospital Chapel marrying Dr Harold B Anstall M.D. In 1959 Sheila's husband had a Fulbright Scholarship to Harvard Medical School they sailed on the Coronia with their new baby to the USA. They returned to England for two years and returned to the U.S, in 1963 where they settled in Texas, and finally to Utah in 1972.  

Sheila began Art Classes soon after arriving in Utah, eventually having her own Art Shows, teaching watercolor painting. 

Sheila spent several years in assisted living until COVID made things difficult. She spent her final years living with her son Paul. 

Sheila is preceded in death by her husband, sister Lydia and husband Bernard, her parents, and special friend Aunt Molly, her second Mother.
