There are no “tears in heaven” for me, for what a glorious day when, surrounded by my family, I left this world on the beautiful autumn morning of October 8, 2009, and entered into the loving arms of my daughter, Laura Lee, my husband, Bill, and my parents, Russell and Dottie.
Finally in peace, I leave behind my wonderful children, Ron (Cathy) Wight, Linda Loma, Patrick Wight, Michael Wight, Tracey (Dale) Parks, and my “other daughter,” Eileen Perlinger; my grandchildren, Robyn Geist (Patrick Hayes), Kimberly (Aaron) Newman, James Hartman, Rachel Rogers, Kallie Roberts (Nick Miller), and Tyler Anderson; and my 12 great grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
I send loving thanks to my caring and devoted friends from Heritage Place in Bountiful, who helped turn my little apartment into a wonderful home, and to the exceptional hospice staff at The Residence of Care Source, who provided great comfort to myself and my family during my last hours. My special thanks are extended to Dr. William Mackie and Dr. Hugh Stoneburner for providing their outstanding medical support over the years.
Shirley’s life will be celebrated at a wake by RSVP for family and close friends at Starks Funeral Parlor on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2009.
