Shirley Marie Satterfield Resler, 74, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed quietly into Glory on April 27, 2011.
Shirley was born on November 24, 1936 in Hickman, KY. She graduated from Fulgham High School in Clinton KY and also attended Murray State College. Before she retired in 1998, Shirley worked for several prestigious companies including Caterpillar, Beeline Fashions, Kennecott Copper, Huntsman Corp., Franklin Covey, and for the former Utah Senator, Bob Bennett.
Shirley lived a wonderful life filled with music, laughter, and love. She was often heard at the piano or organ, playing music by ear. She also loved to sing. During her early 20’s she played in a quintet in western Kentucky. Later on she played for Sunday services at Southeast Christian Church in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was a member for over 35 years.
She is survived by her mother Ella Marie Wolberton Satterfield (Water Valley, KY); husband Robert Lowell Resler (Salt Lake City, UT); children Todd Lowell (Vernna) Resler (Magna, UT) and Robin René (Bob) Prado (House Springs, MO); seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father James Richard Satterfield (Water Valley, KY), and her brother James Edward Satterfield (Yuma, AZ).
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 1:30 pm, at Southeast Christian Church, 1881 E. Vine Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shirley’s name to either Southeast Christian Church, or to CareSource Charitable Foundation, 1624 E. 4500 S., Salt Lake City, UT 84117.

So sorry for your loss, Bob. Also, I'm sorry I could not attend services honoring Shirley as I would have loved to hear more about her life. I hope you will be comforted by the hope we have in the Lord.
