Stella Hansen Allen was born in Magna, Utah, to Edwin and Helen Hansen. A voracious reader throughout her life, Stella was rarely without a book in hand; reading was a constant companion, and the day her beloved Nook gave out was a deeply disappointing one. She graduated from Cyprus High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Utah.
Stella met her husband, Rob, at a party, and the two were inseparable from that moment on, remaining devoted partners for the rest of her life.
She was a passionate sports fan, especially when it came to football. Watching the Utes was one of the few times Stella fully let her emotions loose, cheering loudly, shouting encouragement (and the occasional obscenity), and celebrating every moment of the game. She also enjoyed bowling and often spoke fondly of her bowling league and the conversations shared with her teammates. An avid golfer, Stella spent many happy hours on the course with her friends in a group affectionately known as The Tee Party.
At her core, Stella was an executive and a leader. She wrote grants for Easter Seals, served as an executive vice president of a home healthcare company, and later became the executive director of Habitat for Humanity Salt Lake, roles in which she combined compassion, intelligence, and determination to make a meaningful impact in her community.
Stella was also a devoted mother who raised two loving children and welcomed their spouses with the same unconditional love she exuded.
She leaves behind an outsized impression on the lives she touched and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
