Steven died peacefully on February 18, 2013 in his home surrounded by family and friends after a long hard battle with cancer. He was born on September 27, 1955 to Madeline Harryman and Blaine Floyd Porter in Midvale, Utah.
Steven met and married his high school sweetheart Jackie Lynn Hansen. They have a daughter Brandi Porter Wilding and 2 beautiful grandkids Trevor Porter and Hailey Wilding, who were the apple of his eye.
He was a long time member of the Buckskin Brigade. Steven worked as a concrete contractor for 30 years and had many colleges and friends.
His all time passion was the great outdoors, fishing, camping and shooting but his most favorite love was his guitars and music.
Steven is survived by his wife of 39 years Jackie; daughter Brandi (Brad) Wilding; grandkids Trevor Steven Porter and Hailey Bug Wilding and Harley “Mini Shadow”; 3 brothers and 2 sisters Julie Steck, Scott Porter, Troy Porter, Billie Melton and David (Jackie) Porter; and tons of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Blaine Floyd and Madeline Harryman; grandma Pebble Harryman; and aunts and uncles.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, February 25th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Steven’s name to any cancer research foundation.
