Together Again

Steven John Sargent "Sarge" passed away on November 28, 2017. Our Dad was born on April 25, 1940 in Salt Lake City to Elmer John and Gertrude "Annie" Webb Sargent and raised in Hoystsville/Coalville, Utah.

He married his partner in crime, love of his life Sandra Afton Brown on November 9, 1962. Reunited after just over two years. He owned Sarge's truck & auto in Midvale for over 40 years.

Dad and Mom enjoyed many hobbies with family and friends including hunting, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, boating at Lake Powell (Mom's favorite) and his beloved Jeep (his favorite). He was also an avid football (Broncos and U of U) basketball (Jazz) and NASCAR fan. It was always a party with our parents for sure.

Dad is survived by his children: Sherrie Sargent (Jim) Baker, Julie Sargent, Kevin Sargent and Krista Sargent (Chad) Summers.

Grandchildren : Jody (John) Jared (Ginger) Shawn, Steven (Bobbi), Tyson (Cecelia) Brandon, Eric and Audrey.

Great grandchildren: Brooklynn, Damien, Unique, Tessa, Tevin and Adelyn.

A celebration of Sarge's life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building. Dad and mom will be laid to rest together in the Hoytsville City Cemetery, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 12:00 pm.

I would like to thank every one at Osmond Memory Care for their care and devotion to dad for the past 11 months. I would also like to thank IHC Hospice nurses and the delivery people they were all so kinda and attentive. In lieu of flowers please donate to the muscular dystrophy foundation.

In Loving Memory

I am so sorry for your loss. Steve was a great guy and was always so nice to me when I was younger. Never saw anyone after my parents died. I will always remember his kindness to me. I will have his picture in my mind forever of drinking a cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette with his legs crossed.
