Steven Norman Harrison

March 19, 1951 - July 26, 2022

Our brother, uncle, dog grandpa and dear friend, Steven Norman Harrison passed away on July 26, 2022. Steve was born in Ogden, Utah on March 19, 1951 to Thomas W. Harrison and Helen Winzeler Harrison. He attended elementary school in Tremonton. The family then settled in Murray, Utah where he attended Murray public schools and graduated from Murray High School in 1969. He attended Weber State and the U of U before following in his father’s footsteps and began his career at Utah Power and Light. Starting out as a meter reader, moving up to I&C Tech and finally retiring as an IT technician in March of 2013.

Steve was always there to help and support anyone at any time. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He loved to travel and visited Tahiti, Bora Bora, Hawaii, Mexico and 46 States! In his earlier days he loved to ski, camp, river run and fish. But mostly he was a passionate Ute fan which began when his father who was an usher snuck him in beginning at the age of 8. GO UTES!

He leaves behind his sister Barbara (Dennis) Sagendorf, nephew Matt (Jennifer) and their children, Mike and Rebecca, his niece Shannon Sorenson and her children, Samuel and Kate. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Helen.

Dear family and friends, Sincere condolences from the John McCurdy family. I am the instructor who trained Steve for his I&C apprenticeship at UP&L. We became and remained very good friends. We played basketball together in the Helper league, which we won 6 or 7 years in a row. I taught Steve to X/C ski and we had a group of 5-6 skiers who skied together 20 + days a season for many years including many overnight full moon X/C skiis. Rest in Peace Steve, you are gone but not forgotten.     John

Dear Barbara, and family,  I don't know if you remember me, but I was saddened to learn of Steven's death, in the Salt Lake Tribune.  It took me a few minutes to figure out the connection with your family and ours. I am the son of Ruth Williams Carper Andrus.  I wish you all the best!
