Susan Jones Arnold
December 2, 1943 - September 30, 2022
Our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Dog Grandma and all-around best friend has ascended to meet her sweetheart in the next dimension.
Susan Jones Arnold passed away on September 30, 2022. She was born in Salt Lake City on December 2, 1943 to Phyllis Capener Jones and Wendell Keith Jones. She attended Highland High School where she was once nicknamed “Bubbles” due to her smiling personality, always with a sense of humor and a smile on her face. Then after attending beauty school she Married Douglas S. Borg Jr., July 2, 1966 and had two beautiful daughters Rebecca and Rachel before their separation in 1980.
In the next phase of “her existence on earth” she met Frank (Papa Frank, T-Bear and Santa to some). It only took six days after meeting him, to know she’d spend the rest of her life with him. They both proposed to each other on Christmas day with Susan being the one to get on her knee first and then they married on May 2, 1999.
Sue was dearly loved by many and in return she loved them all back deeply and unconditionally. They were both devoted students and teachers of “The Course in Miracles” and spent the next 20+ years hosting classes at retreats, Millcreek Sunday morning brunch and at home.
During this time Susan and Frank developed a non-profit organization called “The I Am Center” sponsoring many well-known spiritual leaders and authors at their gatherings and workshops, as well spending hours on end wrapping presents at the mall for donations to support homeless shelters in town. Also, during this phase Susan became ordained ministers through One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in New York City. She mentored dozens of seminary students who will now gratefully serve in her place and honor.
After performing 100’s of weddings and serving non-profits, hosting classes and workshops she retired only to remain busy being Mrs. Claus, with Santa Frank by her side. Susan and Frank worked as Santa and Mrs. Claus at Malls and private parties until Frank’s passing in 2018.
After Frank’s passing, she kept busy with family and friends living each moment to the fullest. Susan passed away on Sept 30, 2022 proceeded in death by both her parents, her sister Judy and brother Jeff. Survived by her sister Nancy, daughter Rebecca Borg (Cole Stromness), Rachel Sage Watson (Kristopher) and two loving grand dogs, Chewy Bear and Lucy. Everyone misses you already Mama Sue. We Love you!
Susan’s daughters would like to give a special thanks to all of the friends and family that have been so wonderful to us through this difficult time, as well as Encompass Care Center, Inhabit Hospice Care and The Wellington for making her last days comfortable in Room 222.
In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to any local shelter or non-profit organization that is near and dear to your heart, in the name of our mother who served so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Susan on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to park on the north side of our home.

We were saddened to hear of Sue's passing. She officiated at our wedding on June 18, 2016 at a friends home in Draper who also had been married by her! Our day was beautiful and meaningful and your mom made us feel so special. We will be anticipating visits from her in the form of a hummingbird, dragonfly or wind in our hair. She loved life and shared that love with everyone. God Bless her and Frank and condolences to you her family. What a lovely legacy left behind! ❤️ Becky and Gilbert Castro
