Teresa Stalliviere Withers

July 28, 1948 - June 25, 2022

We are saddened by the loss of our mother, wife, grandmother, Gigi, sister, aunt, and friend, Teresa S. Withers. She passed away at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Teresa was born at Cottonwood Hospital in Murray on July 28,1948 to parents Norman J. and Eva

M. Stalliviere. They happily lived in Bingham, UT during the early years of her life. The family moved to their new home in Midvale, UT where she resided until she met and married her love of 52 years, Jearl Withers. They were married August 15, 1970 and moved into their first home together.

Teresa studied Cosmetology at Hollywood Beauty School, graduating and becoming a hairstylist. She later moved from the salon to her own salon in her home. She was happy to be able to work from home while raising her two girls. In 1984, she began working in the office at West Jordan Elementary where she remained for 15 years. Teresa retired when her grandchildren were born so that she could spend cherished time with her 4 grandkids. She never turned down the chance to help out her niece Desirae and her 4 little girls Adalae, Amelia, Evie, and Emery. Their smiles made her day.

She enjoyed traveling by land and sea. Planning the next cruise or family vacation was always a favorite to Teresa. She absolutely loved shopping, and going to lunch with her longtime girlfriends Linda R. Campbell, Mary A. Hogansen, Dianna Freeman, and Toni Mascaro. Reminiscing, laughing, and, of course, some gossiping made for the best of times. Teresa was a wonderful Mom, Sister, and Grandmother. There were always big hugs, and kisses and never an unhappy baby around when Teresa was in the room. Her laugh was contagious and her smile radiated across her whole face, putting a sparkle in her eyes. She was a natural caregiver with the biggest of hearts. Once the diagnosis was made, Teresa never wavered in her strength and determination to fight this disease, as she felt she was not done on this earth.

She leaves behind her heartbroken family: Husband: Jearl Withers. Daughters: Lisa (Kevin) Maynard, Angela (Kenneth) Alvey. Grandchildren: Noah, Laura, Caleb, and Eva. Two Great Grandchildren: Maiyla, and River. Siblings: Pete (Ellen) Stalliviere, Laetitia (Ray) McWain, Lori (Greg) Romero and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Dr. Garrido’s team at The Huntsman Cancer Institute, as well as the Huntsman at Home Hospice Team. We appreciate you all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor on Thursday June 30, 2022, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT from 6-8 pm. Guests are encouraged to park on the north side.

A rosary will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 11800 S, Draper at 11:30 am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon. Internment will be held at West Jordan City Cemetary.

Teresa was a one of kind cousin. She was very caring and thoughtful. With her contagious giggle you knew when she was around there was going to be a good time. The memories of our younger years having sleepovers, going to Safeway and the greatest memory of dragging state. Always looked forward to reunions and weddings to have some fun with her. She was always there for me in my ups and downs. I only wished I could of taken some of her pain away. My heart is very heavy and will miss her so much. Rest In Peace sweet soul love you Irene

Awwww Teresa.  One of my most favorite people.  I've been a friend of Angela's since the 7th grade. When I met Teresa, I said...so your a mom, AND your name is Teresa?  Teresa came back with the obvious answer, yes.  So you're like Mother Teresa!  I will never forget her infectious laugh at the counter in the kitchen of their West Jordan home ringing, as she says...well not quite Mother Teresa.  That was the day the nickname Mama T was invented.  I don't know how much she liked it at first, but it stuck. Thirty Three'ish years of always saying Mama T. If she didn't truly like it, you would never know because she was always kind, and your best friend.  I have always loved Teresa.  Even when Ang and I had our ups and downs, (you have a few when you've been friends since your teens) I always wanted Teresa to still be my Mama T.  She always made me feel like I was one of her own.  Even if you didn't talk for a week, or see her for a month or longer, the minute she saw you, she made me feel like we had talked everyday for an hour.  Mama T you will be missed by more people than you probably realize.  Tell Grandma and Grandpa Stalliviere hi - from the skinny neighbor girl up the street.  Hugs to Jerry, Lisa Marie, and Ang, and their families.  Love, Traci

Dear family, I was fortunate to meet Teresa (and her siblings) while taking care of her dad, Norm, at Legacy House.  I was the nurse there at the time and had many conversations with Teresa. So sorry to hear of her passing and praying for the Lord's comfort during this time. Sincerely, Barb Murphy

Dear Wither’s and Stalliviere’s I am saddened to hear that cousin Teresa passed away. She was way too young.  I too will always remember her wonderful smile and laugh.  She was the heart of the family. Teresa always reminded me of Aunt Eva.  My condolences to all the family. Debbie Pino Dahl
