Thomas Carlton Colwell Jr.
March 14, 1920 – April 27, 2011
Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, son of Thomas Carlton Colwell Sr. and Margaret E. Cooke.
Married Marjorie Murtle Baker 1942, she preceded him in death May 2005.
Served in World War II from 1942 through 1945, in the U.S. Army as Radioman for the 84th Infantry Division. Sent and received messages during critical battles.
Owner and operator of Artcraft Interiors, furniture and upholstery business. President of Salt Lake Valley Racing Association 1972 through 1976. After retirement he and mom spent many winters (snow birds) in Lake Havasu, Arizona—many walks across the London Bridge.
Survived by children Craig (Vera) Colwell, Toni (Larry) Hachtel, Gail (Frank) Sitton; grandchildren Troy, Chad, Jenny, Sage, Kelsey; great-grandchildren Doug, Amanda, Jimmy, Jesse and Pax; great great-grandchild Carson; and sister Margaret Jane Nihiser and her family, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie, whom by now is in her loving arms; son Ross; parents; and brother Jimmy.
Please join us to say goodbye at a wake on May 4th from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. He will be layed to rest next to his wife at Mountain View Memorial Park.
