To the dear family of my co-worker and friend, Bro. Thomas Healy; Though I can't feel the true depth of your loss, I nonetheless have also experienced a deep sadness at no longer having the weekly opportunity of participating on Friday nights in the Temple with him. Ever since I first started at the Jordan River Temple I have been blessed by his great attitude and always joyful smile and greeting. He was a mentor as I struggled to learn the correct words and actions to assist patrons in accomplishing their goals at the Temple. Most recently at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple he and I were paired on one of the sessions and we would take turns as to which would lead the session and which of us would be the follower. I would watch carefully as he lead so I could pick up pointers to improve my performance when I had a turn. He was kind enough at various times to offer bits of counsel and wisdom as I would question him about certain things. The last night I remember his being at the Temple was one of those nights as he shared with me the medical findings in his situation and that the following Monday he was to undergo his first treatments. We have missed him for a number of Fridays now and someone was always asking if we knew how Bro. Healy was doing and what of his progress. Many prayers had been offered in his behalf and we know that the Lord provided the final answers. Please know also of our love for him and our loss at his passing and our continued prayers in your behalf.

All right, I feel like an idiot because when I first aescsced the page, for some reason only one comment showed up. So I commented, and suddenly there are 20+.McQ:Seems like the church could include more than just Utah if it wanted to. Not sure why ite2??s just limited to the Zion state. Righteousness I guess.Well, the temple's in Utah, for the use of the Saints in Utah; maybe they thought that the dedication should be available to those for whom the temple is for. I wouldn't be surprised if future non-Utah dedications were broadcast to stake centers in that temple's region.John:We declare all church buildings extensions of the temple for the day, and it all gets done quickly, and none need make the onerous journey of perhaps dozens of miles to sit in some corner of the temple.Aside from the discomfort I feel whenever someone decides that snark is the correct tone for discussing a temple of the Lord, exactly how many people do you think could fit in this, one of the smaller temples? Would you rather that they had a lottery to fit the hundred-or-so seats? (If inconvenience is such an integral part of the temple experience, then maybe you should limit yourself to only attending temples which lie more than six hours away from you. I hear the Halifax, Nova Scotia temple is very nice.)Instead of your intimations of couch-potato Mormons, I choose to see it as an invitation. By golly, they DO want to extend the blessings of the temple to everybody! Imagine that!
