Thomas John Evans

Thomas John Evans passed away on February 22, 2024 at the young age of 71.

Tom was born to Levi Gordon Evans and Mildred Hammond on October 5, 1952, in Hunter, Utah. He grew up around a large extended family.

Tom spent many years following his passion with race horses.  His favorite horse to work with was Cigar, who is in the picture with him. He loved sharing his memories of the people he knew and loved. He enjoyed going to estate auctions and Goodwill to find treasures. His knowledge of antiques was amazing. If he didn’t know about it, he would research it until he knew everything he could. 

Tom was passionate about everything he was interested in. He never lost his interest or passion with everything involving horses, even after retirement. He enjoyed sharing stories with all of his friends about horses, football the mysteries of a lost young man in the desert. He was a diehard 49ers fan. 

The neighbors would see him every day out in the garden and orchard after it started warming up.  He would take his chair out and sit in the sun, and wave to all as they passed by. He was always excited to share the harvest with neighbors and friends. Nothing ever went to waste. He would spend hours gathering fallen fruits and veggies for the chickens and neighbors pigs.  He volunteered at the food bank and spent time with his wonderful friends there. Tom made friends easily.  He was always there to help anyone that needed it. Tom didn’t have a lot but he had found peace and was happy. He will be missed by all who truly knew him.

Tom, the family and friends that have been left behind are truly better for having you in their lives.
