Thomas Kalaher
December 16, 1935 - April 17, 2015
On Friday April 17, 2015 Thomas V. Kalaher passed away suddenly. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Kalaher, and their four daughters Ann Richards, Sharlene McNeil, Patricia Carlson, Enid Kalaher. seven grandchildren and 10 great grand children. Preceded by his mother Phyllis Squires and two brothers William and Carl Kalaher and two great grandchildren.
Tom proudly served with the U.S. Army as a communications specialist, earned his jump wings as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne (Screaming Eagles) and served with the special forces earning a National Defense Medal. Tom was well known, admired and respected for his career with the Utah Department of Corrections. Serving in numerous capacities including the halfway house, prison fire crews, minimum, maximum security units and retired as a Lieutenant while supervising the young adult and women's correctional facilities. His badge was retired with him on February 1, 1997. After retirement he enjoyed 16 years RVing with his wife across the country, managing several parks and making numerous friends along the way.
It was Tom's wish that in leu of flowers that donations be made to the American Legion post #132 in support of all veterans.
