Tilly Louise Redd
April 3, 2016 - May 30, 2016
Tilly, you were so loved in your short two months of life. You were looked forward to with so much hope and anticipation, and your early but safe arrival was such a relief. We were so happy to have gotten our girl-wish after an emotionally challenging pregnancy. You moved and kicked in your mother's belly so much more than your brother ever did that we expected you to be a spitfire, but when you came you seemed so mild. So many of the nurses told us how sweet and mild and wise you were. So many people welcomed you with love. You are our perfect, wee girl and we will always remember the hours we had alone with you in the NICU at your bedside, cocooned from the world behind the curtains, holding you, singing to you, loving you, looking into your sweet eyes and laughing at your funny smile. Your death was quick and traumatic, both for you and for all of us. We hope you didn't suffer too much. But we are grateful that before you died you summoned what little strength you must have had left and, as you lay pale and sick in your little bed, opened your eyes to look at your mother when you heard her voice. Thank you for that little gift. We hope that somehow you can help all of us who mourn to remember the joy of you, even in our pain. We are grateful to all the people we love who have put their arms around us and wept with us for the loss of you… people who are helping us to bear this sorrow. Wherever you are, Tilly, may you know how loved you have been.
Survived by her parents Jonathan Redd and Hillary Stephenson-Redd, her brother Walter Anson Redd, grandparents A. Mason and Karen Redd and Bob and Gaylyn Stephenson, and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private graveside service is being held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Saturday, June 4.

My thoughts have not left your family this week. I am broken by Tilly's death. Thank you for letting me share in her all too short life. Please know that she will forever be in my heart. Also know that she was loved and cared for every time I got to be her nurse. I'll be forever greatful for our cuddles, especially those last days. Although it was most difficult day at work, I'm glad I was there in her last moments because I witnessed our team doing all we could for her and I too know what a gift she gave by waiting for you to arrive to say goodbye. All my love

Dear Hillary and John, i am still hurting for you in the great loss you have sustained. I can not even imagine how hard this must be. Thank you for your important friendship with Victoria and Spencer. We are in your debt. If I can help with your boy I want to do it. Also if you would like to join us in Happy Valley when Victoria and Spencer come down, it would be fun to have you. My love and sincere sympathy. Ilene Ferris
