Timothy Alan Ainsworth

May 31, 1962 - January 10, 2025

Timothy Alan Ainsworth passed away January 10, 2025, peacefully in his sleep at the age of 62.

Tim was born May 31, 1962 to Ottis Winfield Ainsworth Jr. and Margaret Kay Ainsworth (Farnsworth) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Tim had 4 siblings: Mark, Kevin, Brian, and Susan; He was the youngest of the “Ainsworth Boys” and was older brother to his sister. He had 11 Nephews and 4 Nieces. Tim enjoyed spending time as a child in Shreveport, Louisiana with his Grandparents.

As a young man, Tim was a thrill seeker- he loved doing flips, twists, and tricks wherever he could. Tim was in gymnastics, competed in the US Junior Olympics, and won 5x 1st place awards in different categories. As a teenager, you could find Tim riding his skateboard down a long, steep hill while doing a handstand, then landing a flip afterwards. Tim also enjoyed skiing at Brighton, where he would find the steepest slope and do tricks on his way down the mountain. Tim went to Brighton High School, and later joined The US Army where he was stationed in Ramstein, Germany.

Tim was a talented musician and taught himself how to play the piano by just listening to music and would often times sit at a piano to play whatever he was feeling. He was a lead singer in a rock and roll band in the 80’s, and was dubbed the “afro-king” with his thick curly hair. He always said that good music, through lyrics and guitar, would make you feel something in your soul.

He married the love of his life, Carla Kulinsky, and would share 20 years together married, and another 20 years as best friends and partners in life.

Tim’s passion was helping others. Following his mother’s steps in healthcare, he became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy Technician, and later a Surgical Technician with certificates from SLCC and Weber State University. He worked at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City and Jordan Valley Hospital in West Jordan. Later in life, he found himself switching careers and joined the Litho-Flexo family in West Jordan.

Tim was a Fly-Fishing master and would spend countless hours at the river – from watching the hatch, to landing the perfect cast. If the fish were not biting, he would wander around trying to find moose in the nearby currant bushes. Tim loved the outdoors, mountains, and was an avid animal lover- he always said that the best hunters were those with cameras. When Tim wasn’t fishing, he loved going to Utah Jazz games with his daughter, and rooting for the Denver Broncos with his son.

Tim was a genuine, sincere, caring man who gave his heart to anyone. He taught us that even if someone had a different way of life, that you still were kind to them. Tim was always generous; he had a soft spot for those less-fortunate and would always take care of others before himself.

Tim leaves behind his daughter, Leah Margaret, and son, Trevor Alan, whom were his “greatest accomplishments”.

A memorial service will be on January 25, from 10am – 12pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.

In Lieu of Flowers, contributions can be offered to his children in support.

In Loving Memory

I had the opportunity to work with Tim at Litho. I didn't know him well but he was one of the friendliest guys to run into. My condolences to the family.
