Timothy Lee Hight
February 20, 1961 - January 18, 2020
Tim passed away peacefully on January 18, 2020 at the age of 58.
He was our loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Tim was born in Charleston S.C. and was a child of a military family, allowing him to live in various states. While attending High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii he became an Eagle Scout. He would often tell a story that on his way to school if the cars coming towards him gave a thumbs up that meant the waves were in and school was “cancelled”.
After High School he was sworn into the U.S. Air Force in August of 1979 and honorably discharged September of 1991. Tim received an Associates Degree from Clemson University in Criminal Justice. He then went to work for C.R. England in Salt Lake City, Utah which lead to a 20+ year career in transportation.
Tim was an avid sports fan; he loved the Chargers and the Padres. He had a special place in his heart for Tony Gywnn, not only for his athelticism but genuine character. His passion was music. He loved 80’s hair bands, classic rock and almost any concert that was loud. He loved a good debate and would take anyone on about any subject.
He is survived by his Wife Monica, Son Truman, Daughter Jacy (Zack) Hudson, Parents – Father Harvey Hight and Mother Katrina Sorenson and Stepfather Al Sorenson, Sister Linda, Granddaughter Reese, Cousins and Nephews. Special thanks to his employer CR England Inc. for their loyalty and Rodger Hacker for the routine visits and Popeye’s Chicken.
The family would also like to thank Intermountain Homecare & Hospice, Dr. Joe Mendez and his staff, Dr. Jamie Brant and all others from the shuttle driver to his Brain Surgeon Dr. Mark Reichman at the Intermountain Medical Center.
Friends are welcome to gather and visit with the family at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, UT; from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. A funeral service for Tim will begin at 11:00 am in the chapel for those who wish to stay. There will be a graveside service to follow with military honors.

To Tim’s family & friends, you all are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I was fortunate enough to spend several years stationed with Tim in the Air Force, both in AZ and again in Charleston SC. We shared too many laughs to count. I loved Tim, he was always there for me when I just needed a friend. He was a great example of the kind of person I wanted to become while in the military. He will be missed by so many people and I’m lucky enough to say, he was my friend. God speed Tim! Save a place up there for us, love you buddy Joe Fussinger

I got the pleasure to meet and work with Tim while he was in Lebec CA. Though he could be tough at times he was the man that would get it done. He would always tell me that "I was his customer but we were a team and teammates take care of each other". He would always do just that. If I needed something to get done he would always tell me it would be done and not to worry about it. He always went above and beyond. Thoughts and prayers are being sent up to his family and friends.

Tim , you were a good person to work for. I enjoyed sitting and talking about music and guitars. 8 months was not long enough to get the full effect of your knowledge and spirit but I got quite a bit. You are missed.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we’re together again. Love you Cuz!!!!
