Timothy William Layne

Timothy William Layne of Lehi, Utah transitioned peacefully from this life into eternal life; surrounded by his loving mother and father on August 7th, 2025.

He is survived by his parents, George and Dung Layne, his older siblings Christine and Daniel Layne, and many other extended family members and friends who cared for him greatly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents George and Joyce Layne.

Timothy was always a bright and gifted individual. At the early age of thirteen, he began building PC computers. He was both a perfectionist and talented at what he did.  He excelled academically all throughout his education. Timothy graduated from Lehi High School in 2023 with honors, while attending MTECH his senior year.

He was a loving and compassionate child. He especially loved animals, and they loved him. You could often find him helping his Dad in the backyard tending to their chicken coop. While his sister’s dog Rory, would be waiting to greet him with a belly to rub as he walked through the door.

He had a passion for cars. He enjoyed repairing and modifying his car in his free time, along with helping his friends modify theirs. He graduated from Mountainland Technical College with his AST certification in Automobile Repair and worked at the Doug Smith KIA in Lindon. Timothy was seen as a mentor to his coworkers, often assisting other technicians when they had difficulty.   

Timothy was an avid gamer and spent a lot of time playing online with his brother Daniel, and many friends. He also enjoyed the natural beauty of the mountains, going for long rides in his car.

Timothy will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His thoughtful presence left a lasting impression on those around him. He has left us many memories through the kind and thoughtful actions he took to care of his family.

Friends may offer condolences to the family on Tuesday, August 19th at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper, Utah, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
