Tina Wittke

October 24, 1940 - July 1, 2018

Tina Wittke, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 1, 2018, while on a fun Wendover getaway with her husband, Harold, and her daughter, Suzanne, and son-in-law, Alex.  Tina passed away in the arms of her loving husband, and if the choice were hers, we know she wouldn't have it any other way.

Tina and her loving husband, Harold Wittke, had an amazing love affair that spanned 60 years.  Both were European immigrants who met in Sugarhouse, Utah, and it was love at first sight. Their love and affection for each other never wavered.

Tina was all about family.  Her husband and family were the most important things in her life.  She was a pure soul, totally without guile, and looked for the best in everyone.  Tina was a talker.  She loved talking with anyone and truly wanted to get to know them.  She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Tina had the pleasure of working with her daughter Suzanne, and, oh what time they had–laughing with all the clients and just enjoying each other every day.

Tina is survived by her husband, Harold; daughters Yvonne Russell and Suzanne Hoggan (Alex); grandchildren Stacy Rolph, Brandon Russell, Archie Hoggan, Ryan Kendall, and Walter Hoggan; and ten great-grandchildren who will miss their Oma Wittke.  Tina was preceded in death by her son, James Wittke.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a substance abuse foundation of your choice.  She would have loved this.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT.  Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.

In Loving Memory

I am so sorry to hear this news. I loved Tina. She was my second mom growing up. I remember she made the BEST German pancakes and we had them each morning that I had a sleep over. She taught me how to make them and they are now my family's favorite as well. She was always so kind. She treated me like her own. I have so many fond memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Uncle Harold, Suzanne, Yyonne, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Aunt Tina will be greatly missed. She was always so kind to include our family in the Christmas Eve party. She always included my kids and remembered their birthdays each year. She knew they never had a chance to know their own grandma and she always included them and reached out to them. I appreciate her keeping the family together all of these years. She was sweet and we will miss her!!!

Harold, Suzanne, Walter, and family. My deepest condolences for the loss of your wife, mother, Oma and friend. I have had the privilege of meeting Tina several times, and I liked her as soon as I met her. I know how much she meant to your family, and she will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. It's been a pleasure to work with Walter and Harold, and it was always a treat when Tina would visit the store. I will miss her as well.
