Our beloved Tito Rutilio Romero passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.

 

Tito was born on July 10, 1926, in Taos, New Mexico to Ricardo and Solidea Romero.  He served his country in WWII as a Private First Class Rifleman with the 130th  Infantry Division. 

 

On January 15, 1952, he married Marcella G. Oliver.  For over 37 years Tito worked for Kennecott Copper as a heavy equipment operator.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, watching football and spending time at Bear Lake.  He also enjoyed playing cards, particularly poker, with friends and family (especially when he won) and attending his grandchildren’s sports events.

 

He is survived by his wife; children Barbara (Steve), Joann (John), Mary, Rosella (Tony), and Stephanie; brothers Ricky (Mary), Armando, Louie (Naomie), and Pat (Margie); sisters Kate (Dan) and Cruzita (Juan); as well as many grandchildren and great –grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his son Clyde (March 14, 2008).

 

Viewing and Rosary Services will be held Sunday, January 30th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1058 West 400 South.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31st also at the church.  Following graveside services at Valley View Cemetery, a light luncheon will be served at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Hall.
