Toula Poulos Souvall
October 2, 1922 - November 15, 2018
Toula Poulos Souvall, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother (Yiayia), great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 96 on November 15, 2018. Born to Greek immigrant parents, John and Chrisula Poulos, on October 2, 1922 in Logan, Utah, she graduated from South High School in 1939. She met the love of her life, Andrew W. Souvall and they were inseparable. Toula and Andy were so excited to begin their lives together that they eloped and were later married at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on July 14, 1940. Andy made her a promise that life would always be an adventure, and it was.
Her family was her life. She raised three children and was completely adored by her grandchildren. great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Toula showered anyone who came in her presence with love and kindness. She was the consummate hostess, throwing parties for holidays, name days, birthdays and other special occasions. She was also the greatest example of strength until the very end.
She cherished her beloved Greek Orthodox Church, and was recently recognized by the Panahaikos Society for her countless years of membership. She had a generous spirit, sitting on many church committees and volunteering at several hospitals, including many years at Holy Cross in the maternity ward. She loved holding those babies!
Toula is survived by her brother and sister, George (Nedra) Poulos and Kula (Bill) Pippas; her children, Connie (Fred) Pantke, Cynthia (Gary) Nicolaysen and Bill Souvall; her five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andy; her parents; four siblings; and two beautiful grandchildren, Elyse Pantke White and John Nicolaysen.
Special thanks to all of the caregivers from Summit Hospice who cared for Toula at home, especially Makenna. Also, a very special thanks to her son, Bill, for being by her side.

In Loving Memory
Dear Connie, Fred and all extended family! It was hard and very sad for us to learn about Toula passed away. It was so nice , quite, wise and intellegent women, we knew. She was always meeting us with love, joy and open khear of full kindness, as we thought just for us. She always will find words to express all of her love in a very short time of gtreeting after church service, and her hands will make you feel very special by her gentle, but the same time strong holding, which was giving us all generosity from this fragile lady. Remembaring her always being in church, whearing nice shoes with heels, very nice siuts or dresses, with perfect hair style of perfect lady, never old. Till maybe very recent. She always was saying sorry, if she couildn't come to special services, or every Sunday. But she was already over 90. When new parish was established, St. Anna Greek Ortgodox Church now we are sure all parishioners were proud having Toula as the one of the oldest parishioner of our parish. She shared mpments of history of her family. And it's inheritance, that Soavall family is always first to be involved in church establishment, grouth and become stronger spiritualy. We were blessed to see Toula in church one more time recently, when St. Anna Greek Orthodox church received relics of Saint patron of the church- St. Anna. Seing Toula and received her greeting was also very special for us. Toula will be missed by many. But we will remember her gentle and very bright soul, her loving smile and her loving heart. She was true follow of Christ. May memory of her life comfort you all at this difficult time of great loss. May her memory be eternal!

I'm so very sorry for your loss. But may the words of Jesus Christ that he spoke in John 5:28,29 give you all the added reason to know that what he spoke here about a Guarrantee that he will resurrect your dear loved one, Toula back to life again, should bring some comfort in the coming days and know that it will happen right here on this earth, as Gods word the Bible says in Psalm 37:29....
