Toynette B. Mehr

April 15, 1948 - January 9, 2018

Toynette "Toni" Mehr was born on April 15, 1948. She left us on January 9, 2018 to embark on her next adventure, somewhere over the rainbow. Toni is preceded in death by her mother, Alvera Brinton, father, Howard Brinton and her soulmate Larry Perry.

She is survived by:  her four children, Bryan (Amy) Mehr, Jeffry Mehr, Jennifer (Lynn) Hardy,  Cydnie (Mike) Samora, brothers Michael (Rhoda) Newell and Tim Brinton, her sister Angie (Johnny) Luttmer, her best friend Christine Connors, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a tremendous extended family due to the fact that Toni had a heart the size of Texas.

She spent two days on life support and the wonderful outpouring of support and love during that time  is truly a testament to the fact that Toni had a way of making everyone she met feel like they were special to her. Hers was a life of service and devotion to those she loved. Her professional life in civil service spoke to her beautiful character and graciousness. Despite great sacrifice and tribulations, Toni demonstrated courage and goodness by teaching her family the difference between right and wrong. She expected and encouraged them to do what is right. Through her perseverance and determination to face every challenge with dignity and grace, Toni's life impacted the world for the better and will continue to do so for generations to come. Her presence will be missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her.

A celebration of Toni's life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E. SLC.

Few things in life will ever affect you more than the death of a parent. Not only do you have to endure the intense pain of loss but you are also left to face a future that will likely be quite differnt from what you had expected. The Bible assures us that death will be no more. May you find that such promises will help you to cope with the loss of your mother. My deepest sympathy to each of you.
