Tyleen Andrews Martin

Tyleen Andrews Martin, born 8 August 1922 in Liberty, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in the presence of family members on 20 June 2018 at the age of 95.  

Tyleen was married to William (Bill) Martin who preceded her in death in May of 2014 after nearly 70 years of marriage.  She is survived by two sons, Michael and Steven (Jill); four grandchildren Matt, Trevell, Josh and Sacha; six great grandchildren Justin, Heather, Niklas, William, Lexi and Tessa; and five great-great grandchildren Mallory, Mathew, MacGyver, Connor and Trinity; and Tanji (a previous daughter-in-law) with whom she shared a special relationship.  A sweet and generous person who had many friends, she will be missed dearly.

Tyleen was a graduate of Doane College in Lincoln, Nebraska.   Aside from being a loving wife and mother with boundless patience and forgiveness, she also worked in the advertising industry and held various administrative and executive assistant positions at agencies in Utah and Colorado.

Eventually Tyleen and Bill retired to Sun Lakes, Arizona where they resided for nearly 30 years before returning to Salt Lake City in 2013 to be nearer to family.  

Tyleen enjoyed golfing, was an avid Bridge player and spent many hours serving her neighbors and community through volunteer work.  She had a great sense of humor and was always fun to be around.  All who spent time with Tyleen benefited from her favorite snacks, watermelon and popcorn. 

There are no services planned.  Both Bill's and Tyleen's ashes will be memorialized at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, UT.
