Vaughn Raymond Feulner

January 15, 1952 - February 15, 2025

Vaughn Raymond Feulner, 73, of West Valley City, Utah passed away in the early morning hours of February 15th, 2025. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 15th, 1952, to George and Mary Feulner.

Vaughn was a man of many talents and interests. In his various jobs over the years, from train engineer, mechanic, construction supervisor to over the road driver for Pride trucking, and Transportation for various movies and TV shows from Utah and Montana to Texas, Vaughn took great pride in everything he did.

He always loved music, photography, and the great outdoors. His favorite places to be were exploring on an ATV, target shooting in the desert, and white water rafting, where he had the talent to confidently read a river & conquer it with a smile on his face.

He loved nothing more than to introduce his love of running rivers to anyone willing to leave the city behind for a few days and get lost in the wilderness, quietly passing his knowledge to those who showed interest in taking the oars in hand.

In the evenings it was very common for him to pull out his 12-string guitar and play songs by the campfire. Classic rock was the soundtrack of his explorations. From Fleetwood Mac to The Who, (with a healthy dose of Gordon Lightfoot), their sounds filled his life until he pulled the truck over to take a picture of anything that caught his eye.

Vaughn was quick to make friends in all places and settings, and kept close to those from all walks of life that he encountered. Whether he met you on a film set or in the campground, if you were his friend you were more like family to him. He will be incredibly missed by many.

Vaughn met his soul mate Kathleen Cook in 1972 and married a few years later. Whether it be determination or stubbornness from both they stuck with each other through all the ups and downs that 49 years would bring them.

Vaughn R. Feulner is survived by his wife Kate, brother Scott, son Shane (Kristi), daughter Erin (Halston), grandson Lyam, and countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents George andMary Feulner, and sisters Judy and VerLynn.

Vaughn will be laid to rest at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 1 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek.

Dear Kate and family, I’m so sorry to hear of Vaughn’s passing. He was a young teenager when I first met him, he actually came to see me in the hospital when John was born. I have fond memories of him. Take care hon. ♥️

Vaughn worked for Pride for 11 years, most of those I was his dispatcher. Vaughn could be counted on to get the job done. I valued his support and work ethic. I am sorry to hear of his passing, it was certainly unexpected. My heart goes out to his wife and family, he is away, but he is not gone.

I remeber being at Aunt Kate's and Uncle Vaughn's as a little kid. I gathered some fall leaves in their yard. Vaughn put all my leaves in a special laminated folder. I always remember that and how special that was for me. Sending love and condolences. ❤️
