Our loving mother passed away April 5, 2013.
Verna was born April 8, 1919 in Sunset, Louisiana. She was born to Zennon and Nita Dugas.
She was a registered nurse and a first lieutenant in the army. She enjoyed bridge, golf, and being with family and friends. Her whole life was devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Verna is survived by her children Steve and Nita; grandchildren Sam, Andrea and Zach.
Preceded in death by her husband Dick and four siblings.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 11 at 11:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane, Salt Lake City. Viewing will be held on April 10 from 6:00-8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where a Vigil will begin at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please have a Mass said for Verna at your local Catholic Church.
