Verna Larry McClintick

November 19, 1943 - July 24, 2013

Verna Larry McClintick

Ma

Mrs. Carpet Fixer

Our loving wife, mother and grandmother passed in her sleep on July 24, 2013.

She was born on November 19, 1943 in Salt Lake City, UT to Alma Clayton and Vernon Mathew Beckstead. She attended Granite High and Weber State University.  On May 6, 1966, Verna married Keith P. McClintick in Ely, Nevada. Together, they opened a Kentucky Fried Chicken in San Francisco and were the Original Mom and Pop owners.  Verna was an ER Nurse for 35 years for IHC and spent 30 years working side by side with her husband in the family business Carpet Fixer.  She enjoyed working and never had a job she didn't like.  She loved boating on the lake and traveling in her motor home where most destinations offered gambling.  We hope there are slot machines in Heaven!  She was a huge advocate of common sense and wisdom.  She thought she could save the world, offered help to everyone, and was successful in helping so many.  Verna was extremely loving, caring and giving and is loved in return by many.

She is survived by her husband; children Raymond Villiard (Lori VonWald), Troy (Bea) Villiard, Tawny Lee Lloyd (Kelly Gordon), Tristina Villiard (Scott Wilcox); 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Raymond (Evelyn) Beckstead; many nieces and nephews; daughter-in-laws Bobbee Luke, Catie Scorzato; and son-in-laws Douglas R. Lloyd, John W. Zoble, and Greg Laird.

Preceded in death by her parents; brother Gary Beckstead; sister Sue Ann Draper, Geraldine Beckstead; beloved grandson Christian Parish Villiard; son-in-law Todd Champion.

Friends are invited to Celebrate Verna's Life on Tuesday, July 30th from 6:00 until 8:00PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT.

In Loving Memory

Our hearts go out to Keith and the entire family. We will truly miss this amazing and beautiful woman. The kindest soul and she always opened her heart and home to everyone around her. She treated all of us like family no matter who you were. Our trip to Mexico with Keith and Verna was unforgettable. I just remember how much she smiled and had a great outlook on life. Your voice of wisdom and spirit will live on forever and you will never be forgotten. With Sympathy, Julie & Scot Gordon

I was blessed with growing up across the street from Keith and Verna, they always welcomed my little sister and I into their home and family like we were one of their own. We spent many weekends with Keith and Verna on the lake boating and enjoying each other company - weekends and memories that will never be forgotten. She was the sweetest, most loving, giving person that I have ever met and I'm blessed and thankful that I got to spend so much time with such an amazing person that I admire so much. I love you Verna! Rest in paradise. My thoughts and prayers are with with McClintick family.
