Celebrating Vickie Johnson Pratt
With a Wake on Thursday March 15, 2012, we will celebrate the life of Vickie Johnson Pratt, our beloved wife, sister, daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Born to Donna and Victor Johnson on a bright spring morning, May 8, 1949, her youth was filled with activities while singing and marching her way through Granite High School as a member of the Madrigals and pep club. After graduating in 1967, Vickie spent a year at Utah State University before being hired at Utah Hogle Zoo where she spent 30 incredible years and met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Pratt. Vickie married Bob on April 13, 1980 and spent the next 32 years experiencing the many wonders life has to offer (fishing, camping, and bowling) and traveling across the country (sometimes by motorcycle) to distant shores. Much of her time was spent cheering on her favorite sports teams (Go Broncos!), although it did not matter the sport for she loved them all. Never without a pet, maybe hundreds we bet, she always greeted you with a smile, loved all who came before her, and unselfishly made life a better place for those who came in her path. Although never to be replaced, her husband, Bob; parents, Donna and Fritz Urbanek; Sisters, Terri Runolfson and Cristi Porter; step children, Marti Gaylord and Ranch Pratt; grandchildren, Tiffany Swensen, Jordan, Brayden, Maddie, and Parker Pratt; and great grandchildren, Laiken and Conner Swensen, will fondly and lovingly carry the torch she has passed to them by her mere presence.
The celebration of Vickie’s life will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to her favorite charity in her memory: Best Friends Animal’s Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741 (435-644-2001).

Dear Bob, Donna, Fritz, Terri & Christi, I can't express my sorrow at hearing of Vickie's passing. I will forever remember how every family get-together was more fun when cousin Vickie was around. Her distinctive laugh and smile brightened the life of all around her. Although I am one of the ?young' cousins, she always took the time to talk to me and was always interested in what was going on in my life. Even Sheri and my two oldest kids recall Aunt Vickie and how she always remembered their names and her big hugs. She was truly a most precious gem. I wish I could be there to celebrate Vickie's life with you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family and may God bless you. I lived on the next block from Vickie on Highland Lake Drive. We were kids in junior high and then high school. We said we'd keep in touch after graduation. Like many promises we intend to keep that one fell by the wayside. I saw Vickle once more at my sister Lisa's memorial a few years ago also held at Starks. She asked a mutual friend if I had arrived. (I was standing in front of her). I changed more than she did. She looked the same as I remembered her from school. You picked a great group of people to handle Vickie's memorial. Where ever Vickie is now, she knows how I feel. Friends always. Chris Manzano

Although I only had brief encounters with Vickie through Marti, it was clear what an exceptional woman she was and the amount of love she had to spread around. What a smile. Your grief is personal but your loss is shared by many. My most loving thoughts and deep sympathy go out to you Bob, Marti and your extended family. Tracy

Sorry for your loss. I am the trainer at Dimple Dell, and I had the honor of training Vickie in the track and tone class there. She had a beautiful light that touched each person in the class. I appreciated her inspiration and am grateful for the time in her presence. To het family, may peace be with you in this time of transition. God bless. Detrich Hay

Bob, Marti and Ranch, Please accept our condolences on the loss of such a vivacious and loving person as Vickie. We will truly miss her. Our whole family prays for your comfort at this difficult time and rejoices for her and her reunion with her loved ones who have gone on before her. I can imagine her with Daddy Doc, Audrey, my Grandma Pat and my Mom - and I'm sure they are rejoicing in meeting each other once again, as well as many other loved ones she was so dear to. I know we will see her again. We are truly blessed to have had her in our lives. God Speed.

thanks for dropping by Monica, and glad you ejoeynd the photo's of Bess. AS to Johnny Depp, well, I know that a phone call would be a miracle , and I'm not holding my breath or anything, sorry, went off into a daydream there!! Loved Alice in Wonderland, and I think the whole production was spot on, capturing the total over-the-top madness of the fantasy story, (how could it not with Tim Burton directing? Love his dark and disturbing Gothic type films.) and Johnny as The Mad Hatter, somehow getting across the sadness and vulnerability of the character through all that fantastic madness and over the top make-up plus those eyes!! I have the DVD and I could watch him ..er.. I mean of course, .the film again and again The large headed Red Queen, was glorious and well played by Helena Bonham Carter, (she's also married to Tim Burton, and I would love to be a fly on the wall in their house, must be magic!!) One of my top ten favourites I think. Did you enjoy it?..xPenx(I have a love of the strange films, .like Beetlejuice.. I know Johnny wasn't in it but Michael Keaton took the film to another level, and the premise of the story was fantastic. The scenes in the afterlife waiting room' take a numbered ticket, were a scream )
