Vikki Aleen Allred

September 14, 1952 - November 12, 2021

Vikki Aleen Allred was an extraordinary mother, daughter, sister, friend and athlete. She departed this world peacefully at her home surrounded by family on November 12, 2021, at age 69.

Vikki was born to Douglas J. and Geraldine Black Allred on September 14, 1952, in Delta, UT. She graduated from Utah State University where she relished in being a collegiate athlete and was an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. After graduating from Utah State, Vikki pursued her dream to coach women’s sports at Murray High School, Utah State and the University of Utah. Vikki embraced development in all aspects of life. Anything she did she excelled. She was an entrepreneur and successful co-owner of the Lakeview Travel Agency and the Triangle Tire Goodyear store with her family.

Vikki was an incredible mother. She taught her two daughters to support each other, learn, love, live, forgive, grow, and be happy. She had a remarkable group of friends and neighbors who supported her. She loved and accepted them unconditionally.

Vikki was adventurous exploring the world with her family and friends. Many of her joys included water skiing, snow skiing, ATV riding, body building, camping, fishing, traveling, hiking, golfing, going to the cabin, reading, attending theater, pickleball, poker, and being the reigning champion of King Crowns. You could say she had a competitive streak.

Vikki is preceded in death by her mother Geraldine (Geri) Allred and survived by her two daughters Taylor Allred (David) and Madison Allred (Kyle), her father Doug Allred, her brother Wade Allred (Suzie), and her nephew Lance Allred.

A celebration of life and viewing will be held in her honor on November 18, 2021, 6PM-8PM at Starks Funeral Parlor located at 3651 South 900 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84106. A brief toast in her memory will be offered at 6:45PM.  Share your photos and memories with the family at www.starksfuneral.com

Vikki was beautiful inside and out. I can't tell you how many times she and Aunt Geri came to support our family at gatherings after baby blessings, missionary farewells and homecomings. She always had a smile and never seemed judgmental about anyone or anything. She will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with Taylor, Madisen and Uncle Doug. Missy Allred

There are no words that can adequately express my sadness over the loss of Vikki. I will miss my dear best friend of 48 years. We lived and shared so many chapters of our life together. It was always a priority to keep our friendship strong. How blessed I am to have had all that love and support from Vikki for that length of time. Taylor, Madison, Doug, Wade, my heart goes out to you in sympathy and love. May all of Vikki's family and friends find peace and have the Lords blessings during this difficult time. May you Rest In Peace "Buckie" until we meet again. I will always keep you in my heart!❤️                      Love you forever,  Stephanie

When I arrived from Connecticut at the University of Utah to play basketball in 1979 Vikki was one of the first coaches I met.  She was lovely to me: encouraging, fiercely competitive, intense, loyal and had an ability to infuse me with her belief in my talent. She made me wanna be better.   Forty plus years later I moved back and encountered Vikki again while playing pickup basketball with her and friends.  Her competitiveness felt even fiercer(!) and her megawatt smile was the same- engaging, warm and kind.  I wonder if she's already choosing up sides for a game in Heaven.  I am sad to know of her passing and whileIt may feel like a light has gone out she will shine on forever in you, her daughters❤️God bless you Vikki and may God cradle you and your family in Her Almighty Hands.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this.  Although I have not been directly in touch with Vikki for many years, she had a tremendous impact on my life. I knew Vikki as a coach, a mentor, golf partner, fashionista, travel planner, role model, confidante, and most importantly as a friend.  Vikki was my coach at the "U" - and she motivated me to be a better player.  We shared such great memories both on and off the court (Vegas - "Thunder Down Under").  Vikki taught me how to play golf - a game I still play with my fellow UTES today. I will always remember the red Vette, her bodybuilding phase, her "throwing a rooster" while waterskiing, her impossibly skinny legs, her intensity and competitiveness - but also her beauty, grace, tolerance and compassion for others.  As I see all the photos with her girls, I remember how much she wanted to be a "mom" above everything else !  Vikki loved her family, treasured her friends, and lived a life filled with so many memories and happy times.  We are all hurting and feel such a great loss - but I am grateful Vikki is now at peace and no longer suffering.  There is no doubt she is looking  for a pickleball game or choosing up sides for a friendly game of basketball. My deepest sympathy to her family and other friends as we mourn her loss but celebrate her life well lived. Janer #21 GO UTES !

I have very fond memories of Vikki. She had a great personality and was fun to be with. I was extremely honored when she asked me to the Girls Choice Dance. She insisted on picking me up driving her dad’s car. Those of you who know her will not be surprised by one of my experiences. My friend and I talked his dad into letting us borrow his boat to go waterskiing for the day. I asked Vikki to go with us and she accepted. I should have known when she came out of her front door with her own ski tucked under her arm that we were in trouble. She was one of the best skiers with the most stamina I have ever seen! Far better than us guys would ever be. Even though we lost touch after graduating high school, I always valued our friendship during our school days. Rest easy my friend, you were way too young!

I'm saddened by Vikki's passing. I knew her as Taylor's and Madison's mother when they were students at Rowland Hall. She raised her beautiful and talented daughters to be as strong and independent as she was. My deepest sympathy.
