Virginia Ann McConnell
December 3, 1923 - February 21, 2022
We lost our beloved Virginia on February 21, 2022 at 98 years young in West Jordan, Utah. Born in 1923 in New York.
At age 4, she lost her father, George Engel. She lived through the Great Depression and WWII. She married and relocated to California in 1947.
She worked for the State of California Employment office for 28 years. She retired to Pismo Beach, CA. and was active in the Oceano Senior Center.
Virginia was extremely organized and disciplined. She kept track of all important records and pictures. She was an ever-present source for family information. You could always rely on her.
She was able to stay completely independent for 96 years of her life. It was so difficult for her to have to depend on others, but very grateful for those who took care of her. A great example for young women to follow.
She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was a vivacious lady with a happy and outgoing personality.
She was amazing, adventurous, and an intelligent, strong woman.
Virginia is preceded in death by her mother Lillian, her sister Estelle, as well as first husband, David Harris Jr., and second husband Geoffrey McConnell.
She is survived by her brother Raymond, sister Kathleen, and sons David and Donald Harris. She also has three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all.
In Loving Memory
May she rest in peace. She had a full life and I know Chumash Casino misses her every single Sunday. Senior Center must also miss her. God bless you all. Sincerly, Eileen Wagner
