Virginia was such a unique individual. Her grace, beauty and intellect was so much a part of her influence. I'm so glad that our paths crossed in this life and I had the opportunity to know her and her husband, Glen. They both left a wonderful legacy. I will miss her graciousness in her approach to life. Rest peacefully, Virgnia, you lived a life on your terms! Much love to the Silcox family.

I had the privilege of teaching English with Virginia at Skyline High School for more than 25 years. She was a superb teacher and an excellent mentor for me. I admired her intelligence, wit, and dedication. She was a beautiful lady and friend. I will always treasure knowing her.

There are a handful of my former teachers that I can remember had a big impact on me. Mrs. Silcox is at the top of the list. We were a rowdy bunch, but she tolerated our acting up with great humor, and managed to still share with us her love of literature and the English language. A number of us just from our one year went on to become prominent attorneys, so maybe something soaked in to turn us all into career wordsmiths. I can only imagine the collective effect of all those years of teaching on all those different students. Please know she made a big impact on me, and to Mrs. Silcox, I can only offer a belated Thank You. -Andy Stone, Skyline, 1978.

Mrs. Silcox was a great teacher. I was lucky to be in her A.P. English class at Skyline in 1967-68, and I still remember a lot about that class even though it was more than 50 years ago. With here guidance I learned to write more clearly and to read more perceptively. I wish I could have thanked her personally.
