Waylon Charles Gray
February 9, 2020 - February 19, 2020
Waylon Charles Gray (born February 9, 2020) passed away on February 19th. Over 3.5 months premature, he could not wait to make his entry into our lives. In his 10 days on this earth Waylon impacted them in ways that will last forever. As he fought to live, weighing under 2lbs, Waylon reminded us that true heart is not measured by physical size. The outpouring of love, prayers, hope, hugs and support from so many individuals during and after his life will serve as Waylon’s legacy. When the world can (at times) seem dark, cold and cynical, Waylon reminds us of the light, the warmth and optimism that exists within our hearts. And how, combining them selflessly, we are empowered as children of God to support each other in this life.
Survived by his parents, Trista & Mike, and his big sister, Isley, Waylon managed to physically squeeze and press the fingers of each – sharing his will and touch before exiting his body and leaving his spirit to watch over us. The family would like to thank all the friends, family members and colleagues who shared of themselves during this time. Also, to the staff of the University of Utah hospital for all their efforts allowing our family 10 days together.
For those choosing to do so, monetary donations may be made to the University of Utah Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) by clicking the link above to the left and specifying NICU in the project drop down menu.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 7:00 pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 11835 South 3600 West, Riverton. Friends and family are welcome to visit following Mass where there will be refreshments served.
In Loving Memory
All of you are in my thoughts and prayers, to have peace and comfort, always. While the gift of life with your precious son was too short, may the love remain as the comfort, along with the love of God, family, and friends.
