William Albert Moore

November 15, 1947 - June 8, 2012

William Albert Moore

On Friday June 8, at 4:20 pm a wonderful soul was set free.  He slipped peacefully into the void, and was not afraid to go. Billy was brought into this world courtesy of Gilbert and Mary Moore on November 15, 1947.  He was a decorated Boy Scout, a full fledged hippie, and had an endless wit about him. He was proud of the time he spent in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. Billy was the father of three sons; Jason, Ethan (Rebecca) and Aaron (Megan). He was the loving grandfather of seven; Ryne, Camden, Jude, Simeon, Setiera, Braxton and Kennadi.  He was also a much loved brother of MaryEllen and Gilene. He was married to Suze for most of his life, and never complained. Billy loved the Steel Detailing Industry. He was known by many for his integrity, humor and Hawaiian shirts. He co-founded a company called Steel Encounters. He had a special love and appreciation for his detail department.  He spent many hours socializing at Lumpys and demonstrating his expertise at “butt-darts”.  He was a lover of Halloween and always dressed as a chicken. In 1996 he visited Southeastern Utah. Because of his attraction to the area, he soon relocated there, remaining for the next 13 years. He made many good friends and acquired many pets. He was a lover of nature, a fearless horse keeper and a pretty good painter. He was very proud of winning the Castle Dale Tidy Yard Award twice. Billy was the fearless leader of our family, and we loved him with all our hearts. Our lives will never be the same without him.

A wake in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Family and friends are encouraged to come help us remember Billy and his unique ability to make you smile.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Tietze and Karen Kone at the Liver Clinic as well as the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital who gave him the best care possible.  A special thank you to Harry for taking care of Billy’s house while he was gone, and to everyone who kept him in their thoughts…

Aunt Suze, I'm not sure if you remember me, but I spent a good deal of my childhood growing up with you, I'm Lewis Bowman's daughter. I just had to take a moment to offer you my heartfelt sorrow in this time of mourning. I've lost a husband, I know what it feels like and you have all my best regards.

To Suze and Family, I am so deeply sad to hear about your loss. I would like to offer my heartfelt sympathy to you all. Billy was truly a unique person. He made the world a brighter place (especially with his Hawaiian shirts). He will be greatly missed by all of us who were lucky enough to have been a part of his life.

What is with your affinity for Ben Francisco?Ben went 1-4 in his start on Wednesday. Ibanez went 2-4 in his start. Ibanez is the betetr player. Hopefully, this little sit-down got his mind right. Sanchez is a lefty so you're going to want to go with a righty with everything else being equal, but you don't even mention that in the article.
