William Douglas Wilcox
February 15, 1970 - July 17, 2009
Left to see his Jesus July 17th, 2009 at the age of 39 years young! When you hear the adjectives like jovial, facetious, ornery, forgiving and down right funny you think of many things. But if you knew Doug you would simply think of him. He was the kind of guy that knew not a stranger nor a soul in need that he didn't do all he could to help. He had love for such a wild variety of things! His life was dedicated to service. He served as a volunteer EMT/Firefighter for 5 years until relocating and choosing to spend more time with his beloved wife and children. He served as Head of Sound Ministry at his home church Mountain View Christian Assembly in Sandy, Utah, where he handled audio, video, lighting and any need needing to be met for any ministry! He found a great love in doing so. Of his many interests he recently obtained a long desired motorbike in which he enjoyed the pleasure of riding for Royal Family Kids Camp Fundraiser. This was his first ride with his father whom he had just 5 months prior been reunited with after 30 years of separation. God has been so gracious to allow so many things from his "bucket list" to be met and enjoyed. He is often remembered as the bare-footed-gigantor-coffee-mug-toting-rib-breaking-bear-hugging-fun-loving-God-serving-man! His lunch-box hands have been received into heaven to work beside his Jesus to prepare a place for his wife Alicia; son and daughter Joey and Lizzie Wilcox; mother and step-father Deborah and Jack Gattis; father and step-mother Doug and Laurel Wilcox; sister Leah Clark and nephews James, Vikter, and Refugio. As well as many other extended family, friends and loved ones. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 PM on July 23rd at Mountain View Christian Assembly, 300 E 8000 S, Sandy, UT 84070. A Ceremonial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 24th also at the church. Family has asked that there be no black worn and if you would like, to wear Hawaiian themed clothing. Donations can be made for the family at Mountain America Credit Union. Just note it is "In Memory of Doug Wilcox".
In Loving Memory
Doug was a great man of God, whom I will miss greatly. I ran the soundboard many, many hours with him and I will always remember his incredible willingness to serve God, his family, and anyone else that needed it, always putting others before himself. I pray that Alecia and the kids find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to the entire family, especially Alecia. You are a wonderful example of Christ's legacy and my heart aches for you. I am so sorry you lost your husband. I know you had plans for many years. The obituary was so beautiful and fitting and I wanted you to know that. If you need to talk, call the operator and page me. I know you have fantastic church family who love you dearly. God be with you in your crisis. I will be praying for you.

Just finished watching the movie Hollow and noticed Doug's name in the credits. Ive been going through some dark times in my life and have been fighting cancer. Im not sure how you lost Doug or what his connection with the movie was, but I just thought you should know that I feel that Doug has touched my life in some way. God Bless you all and I hope you have found some peace with your loss. Greg
