William F. Blackett
September 16, 1933 - October 25, 2021
Our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, William F. (Bill) Blackett, passed away peacefully at home, October 25, 2021. He was born in Thistle, Utah, on September 16, 1933, to Cornell and Jeanette Blackett. Bill married Marian Coates and had four sons.
Bill served as a Navy Seaman in Korea. He was an airline mechanic for Hughes Air West, Northwest and Delta Air Lines. One of his favorite pastimes was working in his garden growing vegetables. The grandchildren would look forward to going to his house to see what was coming up in the garden.
He is survived by his children Barry (Denny), Bryan, and Bill (Jennifer), eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, (Marian), sister (Virginia), brothers (Paul and Harvey) and son (Brad).
The family wishes to thank Maggie for her care and compassion.
A graveside service for Bill will be on November 5, at 12:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
