William H. Walsh "Bill" passed away peacefully on August 30, 2016.

Bill was born November 11, 1926 in Las Animas, CO to Blanche O. Headlee and James F. Walsh. Served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines in the Pacific Theatre and as a soldier in the United States Army Air Corps.

Upon return from the war he married Ila Rae Ralphs and had three daughters.

Retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Continued to serve his community his entire life. Helped establish St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Kearns serving in many capacities. Served as a delegate for the Utah Democrats. Enjoyed teaching leather craft at the Kearns Senior Center.

Spent the remaining years of his life at the Central Utah Veterans Home where he made many friends and will be dearly missed.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and his wife Ila Rae.

Survived by sister Margaret Grissetti of Kearns; three daughters Charleen (Mike) Smith of West Jordan, Barbara (Ron) Miles of Magna, Utah and Vivian (Doug) Majors of Liberty, MO; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 1st from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East where the recitation of the holy rosary will begin at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 2nd at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane, Salt Lake City. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy.
