William Mathot
June 7, 1924 - April 27, 2016
William (Bill) Mathot was one of three boys born to Anna and Lucien Mathot in Pittsburgh, PA. His father emigrated from France and he grew up speaking both French and English. He has a twin brother, Jack, living in AZ and his older brother, Dick, is deceased. Bill served in the US Army and was stationed in France during WWII.
In 1956 he married M. Eileen McDonough in Wheeling, W.Va. Together, they had five children. Bill and Eileen were married 53 years before Eileen passed in 2009 at the age of 86.
Bill enjoyed outdoor activities; he loved hunting, fishing and boating. Bill also loved to ride horses. His first job was cleaning out stables so that he would be able to ride. He moved west to Utah in 1972 when he bought a horse so that he could be a true "cowboy".
He worked over forty years in pharmaceutical sales, retiring from Parke Davis as a Division Manager. In retirement he enjoyed reading, cooking, following/investing in the stock market, and classes in French and Spanish.
Bill is survived by his children Patti (Mike), Karen (Craig), Connie (John), David; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife M. Eileen and son William James "Jim", Jr (Heather).
