Zachary Carson

July 14, 1973 - November 3, 2023

KNOW THIS, CRUEL WORLD!  OUR ZACHARY CARSON WILL FOREVER HOLD A PLACE IN SO MANY HEARTS.  His brilliant sarcasm, genuine selflessness, and kind spirit made him such a wonderful human being.  Zach's contagious humor swept us into the moment and that light-hearted nature so comforted us when we needed it most.  HE LIVED AND BREATHED FOR HIS KIDS, and all his days were spent loving his “beautiful, sweet babies,” as he so adoringly referred to them no matter their age.  Generosity will forever be his legacy.  Never expecting anything in return, he showed us love in so many ways.  Whether he gave you his entire weekend to frame a basement or unexpectedly came over to watch your kids to give you a night out, he couldn't bottle up the love that came from a place so deep inside his giving heart.  Few have given so much to so many as did our Zachy.

Zach was a perfectionist and carried an arsenal of skills.  His mechanical mind could disassemble and reassemble a diesel engine in 2 days time.  In construction, every wall was square, and no obstacle to building was impossible to overcome.  During what little free time he had (he possessed a tireless work ethic), Zach loved the freedom and peace that came to him while in nature.  It was common for him to grab a hammock & backpack, trek miles into the wilderness alone, and soak in the beauty of Utah's mountain ranges.  Oftentimes, he would share in that experience with his kids, family, and friends.

Zach was our protector who despised violence.  In this tragic twist of irony, his life was cut short by the very abuse which he so hated.  He couldn't bear the sight of others' suffering, and his last breath was taken defending those he loved.  While we struggle to bottle up our anger at the passing days without him, we recognize that he'd rather we channel that energy into loving one another unconditionally as he did us.  Zachary is survived by his children Harrison, Jaden, Remington, and Parker; his Carson siblings Jana, Amy, Steven, Matthew, Jared, Tiffani, Caleb and Julie; his mother Joan Carson.  His many coworkers and friends at the West Jordan Lowes will also dearly miss him and his now empty garden.  We will gather to celebrate his life together on Friday, November 17 from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance on the north side of the building. Zach disliked funerals, religion, and dressing up.  Please, honor his wishes and come as you are.

In Loving Memory

Zach you are extremely missed by all you're Lowe's family.  It will be hard to go back to garden this year without your jokes, friendly face, welcoming us to work, everything!! My heart hurts as everyone effected by this tragedy. My sincere condolences to all the family and friends.  RIP Zach..love you always..Carrie B

I am at a loss for words, I never thought I would be the one to be writing something because your life was cut short. You and I have spent the most time together in our time at lowes. Everyone said we were inseparable, even to the point if one of us was not there, people would ask what was wrong. We shared a lot of stories and memories with one another, but mostly our love for our children is what we bonded over. We spent many hours together at work, planning what we would do with them when we were off. You loved coffee, food, and your children the most. This was your favorite time of year and you enjoyed planning all the fun festivities for the kids. I’ll miss the present and Christmas shopping.  I can’t imagine the world without you in it but I’m glad we got the years together we did. My condolences to your family but most of all your children, they were your entire world. I’ll miss you Zachy! Love always your Mas.

I did not hear this news until last night (3/9/24), when I thought reconnecting with one of my best childhood friends was long overdue. Zach, you are one of the funniest and craziest people I have ever known. I have such great memories with you. Unfortunately our reunion will have to wait another season. With all my love and condolences to you and your family, Ryan
