AnnMarie was born Ann Marie Caputo on November 24, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up in Staten Island, New York. She studied communications and public relations at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and graduated in 1990.
AnnMarie worked at the New York City office of Warburg Pincus Asset Management, where she met Steve Rung. AnnMarie was in charge of the Apple Computer programs, and Steve would pretend to have silly questions about the programs just to get to know her. AnnMarie was oblivious to Steve's interest in her until a co-worker finally said, "Either that guy is really dumb about computers, or he really likes you."
AnnMarie and Steve were married on October 4, 1997 in Staten Island. They danced in Manhattan's South Street Seaport under a view of the Brooklyn Bridge. They honeymooned in Venice, Florence, Rome and Sicily—places they planned to revisit for their 25th wedding anniversary.
AnnMarie and Steve were fortunate to live in a variety of locations: Tribeca in New York City; London, England; the New Jersey Shore; a town along New York's Hudson River; and Park City, Utah. Outside of Park City, AnnMarie's favorite places in Utah were Bear Lake and Mirror Lake. Someday, AnnMarie wanted to visit Seattle and Alaska.
Maya was born on May 5, 2000. She has grown into an incredibly compassionate and talented young woman, who is AnnMarie's shining star. They recently had a fantastic time together in San Francisco. Marcus was born on March 22, 2005. He is sweeter than any mother could have hoped for, and he keeps himself and the family busy with his various activities. In July, AnnMarie went on all the rides with Marcus during their awesome mother/son trip to Disneyland. In 2011, an Australian Labradoodle named Teddy Bear made the Rung family complete. Teddy was AnnMarie's shadow, following her everywhere. Maya, Marcus and Teddy have been amazing sources of strength for Steve and each other during this difficult period. Their strong family bond is exactly what AnnMarie always encouraged.
AnnMarie was absolutely beautiful. Over more than 20 years that Steve was with her, she didn't seem to age. The only thing that changed about her appearance was a different hairstyle every few months. Throughout her life, AnnMarie never stopped moving and growing. She was always striving to improve herself and was constantly trying new things. She was a graphic designer, a software instructor, a yoga teacher and an administrator at St. Mary's. She loved to cook, to read, to hike with Teddy, and to watch "Pride & Prejudice" over and over again. But most importantly, she was an incredible wife, mother and best friend.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 14th 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption, 1505 White Pine Canyon Rd., Park City.
