John Clarence Miller
After a life well lived, John C. Miller left this Earthly existence January 29, 2018 in Sandy, Utah. He was born June 19, 1922 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Edward Bernard and Stella Willmon Miller. John was the second child of what would become a family of eleven siblings. He grew up in Fort Smith.
John attended radio technician school in Little Rock, Signal Control Training in Kentucky and Baltimore and joined the Navy in 1944. John served as an Aviation Radio Technician Second Class during World War II. After the war, he completed his education at the University of Arkansas, receiving a BSEE. He was a life-long Hogs fan!
John's professional life included work at the Far East Air Force Radar School (Japan), Hughes Aircraft, TRW and the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston. At the MSC Houston, he worked in communications - ground to spacecraft, spacecraft to spacecraft and spacecraft to astronauts on the lunar surface. He felt his work at the Space Center was the most rewarding of his career.
Impressive as his professional life was, John's unwavering commitment to his family is his true legacy. John married the love of his life, Mary Margaret Delaloye, in Fort Smith, Arkansas on June 19, 1954. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage and raised six children. His love for and dedication to his family was inspirational. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Peter (Denise) Miller, David (Nanette) Miller, Ruth Dillon (Dale), Ann Burnett (Ken), Martha Beach (Daniel) and Mark (Amy) Miller; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. He touched many lives and we are all the better for it!
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 9757 South 1700 East, Sandy, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Following Mass, please join the family in celebration John's wonderful life in the Church Hall.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Encompass Hospice for all the care and compassion they have shown to our dear husband and father these last several years.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Canyon Creek Assisted Living who have made John and Mary feel welcome and a part of a larger family. The warmth and love extended to them has truly been a blessing.
