In Loving Memory

Dear Barney, Thanks to you St. Mark's Ground West 42 Psychiatric Unit was truly a healing place. My 4 1/2 years there working under your direction were the best years of my nursing career. Godspeed Sweet Angel, until we meet again. Dear Family, My heartfelt sympathy. I'm sure this separation is so painful. Keep your eyes and ears open. I believe her very lively spirit is going to be very creative in keeping you posted regarding how things are going on the other side and to assure you she's never left your side.

Prayers to all of Vi's family. I worked with Vi at St. Mark's Hospital for many years. She always had a smile on her face and had a positive attitude. I know .she will be greatly missed..

Vi, or as I always knew her, "Barney" was my nursing supervisor on GW at St Mark's Hospital. I was sooooooo lucky to have her, especially since this was my first job as a nurse! She was so good at putting me at ease and feeling comfortable. Her job was unique because she had to manage the Psychiatry Unit on one side and the Med/Surgery Unit on the other side of one floor! She was always available to the entire staff. This had to have been a challenge wearing "two different hats" for one job. She did this with style, grace and knowledge. I always knew we could count on her! She was a hands-on type of boss; she daily could be seen out helping her staff with patients. I respected her greatly as a boss, but more importantly as a person. I will always cherish the memories of the Christmas parties at the Barney home, the fun girls' nights out and her fun sense of humor. She always spoke fondly about her boys! Scott, David, Mark and her biggest boy, Bob! It was obvious how much she loved each one of you and how proud she was just to be your mother and wife! I send my deepest thoughts and prayers to you at this most difficult time, but know she is near by and loving you and will be waiting with open arms to see you again someday.
