In Loving Memory

Condolences from Duluth MN. I was a colleague of Krystal as a fellow Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Site Coordinator. Krystal was generous with her time and expertise. She was supportive, funny, and down to earth. I knew that I could pick up the phone, and she would help me solve whatever problem we were facing. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Pat, we played softball together years ago & I am sending my love and condolences as a mom who also lost a child (my son Jon died at age 46 of a heart attack 3 years ago)so I know words don't really help much. My thoughts are with you & your family. There are many wonderful things being written about your daughter. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Krystal was one of the most amazing people I've ever known. I've missed her so much the last few years. She taught me to take care and love myself while continuing to care and fight for others. She (and BV) is 90% of the reason I made it through college. I'm heartbroken for her family. She enjoyed spending time with them. I love you Krystal and keep you forever in my heart.

So sorry for your loss Mike. Parents should not have to bury their children. Hope you can find peace.

I offer my deepest condolences to Krystal's family and friends at this time. Krystal's dedicated work has made a real difference for survivors of sexual assault here in Cache County where I work as a prosecutor. She has traveled to Logan to put on training for prosecutors, law enforcement, and victim advocates on the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative and many positive changes have resulted because of her training. Krystal was always kind, gracious, and funny to me as we interacted over the years. She even took the time to attend a rape jury trial I prosecuted a few years back and had some kind words of encouragement to myself and a sexual assault nurse that were very much appreciated. You will be missed Krystal, but your legacy lives on!

I worked with Krystal at the District attorneys office. She was the most genuine person. We kept in touch through the years. I am so sorry for her family and friends loss. She was an amazing person and such a joy to be in her bigger than life presence. She will be greatly missed.

I met Krystal (and Micheal and Kaylan) years and years ago as Sundance Film Festival volunteers and I looked forward each year to seeing her and catching up. The last few years we’ve stayed in better touch throughout the year through social media and I loved to see her both her posts about activism as well as adventures and family time at Bear Lake. We got together a few months ago to walk for Ahmaud Arbery and have been discussing lots of current events together. She was an incredible person, a friend whose opinion and knowledge I trusted and appreciated and a woman who I genuinely looked up to. She will be fiercely missed, my love and support goes to her beloved family right now.

I worked with Krystal for several years in the Salt Lake District Attorney's Office. She was one of the best to ever work there, with rarely paralleled skills in keeping all of us prosecutors on track with everything from charging to discovery to collecting documents. Her passion was helping children and other victims of crime. Krystal will be sorely missed but always remembered and her impact on society will be felt forever.

Josh says: I remember Krystal from The Sharing Place. She was an awesome counselor. She was fun while we were sitting around on the pillows. I liked her and wish I could say hi to her. From both of us: We wish we could thank Krystal for sharing herself with all of us, but especially with the kids @ TSP. We are so sorry for your loss. She was a bright spirit, and she will be missed.

I left Utah many years ago, but I was able to remain in touch with Krystal through the years. She remained kind, funny, cheerful and sassy through our correspondences. I have such great memories with her and enjoyed her dear friendship. I send my condolence to the sweet Hazlett family.
