In Loving Memory

To the Hixson Family: I offer my deepest condolences and prayers to all of you as you grieve the loss of Marian. May you take some comfort in knowing that she is with her beloved family, the communion of saints and our Lord. Aunt Marian was truly dear to me. I always loved being around Dad and Marian especially because it was so evident how much they cared about each other. Their sibling bond was very special to witness. Growing up so far away from my St. Louis side of the family I felt a loss of connection between our families but Marian took take care of that. Whenever I would visit her, uncle Bob and grandma and grandpa she made me feel like I was the most important person in the room. I know I was not the only person who experienced this. I am so incredibly grateful to have had such a loving, faithful, humorous and wise aunt. Her devotion to faith, family and education had an indelible imprint on my life. Like my beloved aunt, I taught in the Catholic education system for over twenty years. Thank you aunt Marian for teaching and showing me the way! Be assured that I hold all of you in the circle of love, light and prayer during this time of mourning. Be gentle with yourselves. Love, Daniel Hemmen
