In Loving Memory

Basil, I just wanted to say, he and Joy Ward, both in Heaven now, are still arguing over who has the best farm equipment. I never did know who ever won that argument. Always remember your father gave so much to family life. Now, you are the leader. Make sure the Tractors are always in good shape too. Love you and your family, whom have always be so kind to me. Just cherish your memories always.

Basil and Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. He was an amazing man that worked so hard in life, but always putting family life first. Now, he is with his Elsie and others he always made his friend. May his life be eternal.

I am saddened by the passing of my friend Sam. We go back a long way, with fond memories. My prayers are with the family at this time. May he rest in peace.

Sam and Elsie were neighbors to my in-laws Lyal and Ann Larsen in Layton. I became friends with Sam and Elsie and appreciated their kind and giving relationship through many years. My wife Rose and I were invited into their home many times and treated to their warm hospitability. The last time I visited with Sam I was working in my front yard. He was driving by and stopped to say hello. It is ironic that his last words to me were, "goodbye friend" I probably won't see you again. Sam was a farmer at heart and he had a warm soul that always came through with his positive personality friendly smile. May he rest in peace with his loved ones in a better life beyond. Uncle Sam will be greatly missed. We used to talk "gardens", "aunt Elsie", Kids, etc., on the phone for hours. He called when my son Andrew, passed. That was a hard conversation. He always cared. He ALWAYS cared. I truly missed our phone call, these last few months.

Sam was the most loving, sweet Nouno, that a Godchild could imagine. He and Nouna made a cross-country trip in the 1980’s and surprised us in Lafayette, Louisiana. Nouna baked Greek goodies with me for days. One evening, Nouno kept watch with me while a mother raccoon and her babies on our patio gobbled up all the veggies Nouno had suggested for their midnight snack. He told me stories about the farm and how to properly cook green beans with tomato sauce just like every Greek chef knows. Nouno had a gentle voice and his eyes twinkled when he would speak about Nouna, his beloved Elsie. I hope they’re having a romantic rendezvous in Heaven. I miss them. Angela
