Michael Dennis “Mickey” Gallivan

In Loving Memory

I was very saddened for all of Mickey's famly and friends when I learned of his passing.  While I didn't have the privilege of know Mickey very well, we became acquainted through his father when Jack was raising funds for the Crusade for the Homeless.  I was with the Salt Lake Community Shelter and Resource Center at the time.  I was always impressed with Mickey.  He was fun, upbeat, enthusiastic, and always seemed to be enjoying life to the fullest.  He made one feel special just to be in his presence.  Please accept my sincere sympathies.  Maun

Vaughn and I were both saddened to read of Mickey's passing.  Always a gentleman whose concern for his family and friends was in the forefront.  We enjoyed the times we were able to spend with him, his father and family.  Please express our condolences to the family.

I am writing for both my husband Michael Sullivan and myself. We are broken hearted over the passing of Micky.  Amazingly his obituary accounted all the gifts he provided us. Our hearts go out to the family,  and are grateful for all your generous gifts. Thank you for your friendship and kindness. Much love. Michael Sullivan and Mary .

To the Gallivan family,

Mickey will certainly be missed by the many communities he served with his supportive and genuine care. I experienced his valuable presence in the Judge Memorial and Catholic parish communities. His involvement and dedication to Salt Lake City and its citizens has been a great gift. I am personally grateful for his many expressions of support and kindness to me throughout many years. He was a gentleman of the highest quality and set a great example for many of us. His family is in my prayers and thoughts at this time of sadness. I am confident that he is at a place of "light, happiness and peace."

I had the pleasure of working with Mickey when he was leading Harris & Love and more recently on the Salt Lake City Airport Advisory Board. He was quick to laugh and had a way of cutting through the clutter and clarifying what mattered. We both shared a proud Irish heritage. Sending sincere thoughts and prayers to his family. "May God hold you in the hollow of his hands."

To Sharee, Molly, Michael, and Meghan--

I think it is a hard holiness to say good-bye, and God knows that well indeed. May He comfort and console you, while He wraps Mickey in light and mercy. I'll keep you in prayer.

Mickey was a truly wonderful man. I met him and Sharee when I taught wonderful Molly's CCD class; then  I taught Duffy. Sadly never taught Meghan. Whenever I ran into Mickey we talked about our kids and Judge Memorial. Sharee, just recently my wonderful husband passed away; we too were close to our 50th anniversary. My deepest sympathy to your family and to his wonderful sister Gay. May his new life in Christ be glorious  Cece Holt

My deepest sympathies Sharee, to you and your family. I will always remember Mickey as a man of grace and dignity – a true gentleman.  Since the Judge Memorial days, with me living on the East Coast, I regret that we didn’t visit more, though I do fondly remember stops at D.B. Cooper’s and the Alta Club.  We did, however, speak many, many times.  Topics were plentiful, including families, since we both have loving wives and wonderful children and grandchildren.  Notre Dame Irish, Miami Hurricane and Utah Utes football resulted in a number of calls each football season.  I almost forgot to mention we laughed a lot, a whole lot!

Since 1993, when I created my non-profit foundation, I turned to Mickey a number of times to critique our presentations and today on my desk is a Press Release that Mickey rewrote and will be distributed next month.

I am proud to call Mickey my friend and I will miss him!
