Young Ai Song

August 5, 1939 - February 18, 2019

Young Ai Song, age 80, passed away in peace on February 18, 2019. She was very active until cancer came back spring of 2018. She came to Utah for treatment, but eventually succumbed to the disease here in the Salt Lake City.

Young loved her friends and family. She truly enjoyed spending time with her friends, organizing and participating many high school and college alumni events. Even during her final days, she talked about how much she missed her friends. She was also very kind and generous to the Yu family, who considered her to be the Big Aunt of the Yu family. Young loved traveling, classical music, and Korean dramas. Less than a year ago, she was on a cruise to New England and even went to see the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in Korea in freezing cold weather. Even when she was sick and weak, the sound of Korean drama would perk up her ears and make her smile. She was so kind and loving and will be forever missed in our hearts.

Young was the beloved wife of Chul Soo Yu, much loved mother of Michael (Seungju) and the late Irene (Seungeun), and grandmother of Eena, Dongkeun, and Eric.
