Armando Vargas age 72, of Salt Lake City Utah passed away April 13, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
 
He was born April 28, 1947 in Juarez Chihuahua Mexico to Jose Inez Villagrana and Paula Vargas. 
 
Armando  is survived by his 3 children Lillian (Juan) Sanchez, Leticia Villagrana, Armando (Felipa) Villagrana, the love of his life Lillie Villagrana, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grand-children, 4 brothers; Hector, Joe, Encarnacion, Johnny, 3 sisters; Maria, Kathy, Marisela.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister; Elsa Bejarano.
 
Armando was strong, Independent and very stubborn. He stood up to cancer, fought fiercely and beat the odds for 7 wonderful years of life. 
 
He chose to live each day with divine faith and praise to "the man upstairs" his famous quote.
 
Armando will be remembered by many for his musical talent. He played the vihuela, violin, guitar, guitarron and trumpet. 50 years ago Armando along with his father and brother originated el Mariachi Aguila de Utah. His musical talent brought happiness and joy to many throughout Utah and its surroundings.  Armando once owned a record shop in Salt Lake City. He was also an amazing cook and once owned two restaurants in Salt Lake City. 
 
Armando was a man of many trades including one in specific that will be remembered in the hearts of his loved ones (nicknames). He gave nicknames to all his children, grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters. However the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. His grandchildren nicknamed him Grandpa Grouch and Grandpa Pump. 
 
You will be missed dearly.
 
Your passing leaves us a heartache no one can heal, your love leaves us memories no one can steal.
We love you Dad may you rest in peace and rise in Glory.

Armando will be laid to rest at the Salt Lake City Cemetery in a private ceremony.
