William Todd Anderson
On August 19, 2022, Todd left this beautiful earth that he loved so much. He was born on July 17, 1968, in Washington D.C. to Anthon E. Anderson III and Jean LaRue Farrer and grew up in Murray, Utah. Todd married the love of his life, Stephanie Jo Davis on February 9, 2007. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, family member, and friend. He was incredibly ambitious and loved life.
He is in heaven, freely riding his motorcycle to his heart’s content, and that is how he would want to be remembered. Todd had the biggest heart and felt on a deeper level than most. You could always find him on the side of the road changing someone’s tire, conversing about the meaning of life, or finding other ways to help people in need. As of late, he has been helping care for his father-in-law in his illness. Their motto is, “The trouble in me, is the trouble in you.”
Todd accomplished many things in his life. He was brilliant and energetic, a phenomenal salesman and had immense pride in founding and creating a thriving nationwide company that he named Alpine Water Systems. He did this with his mind, hands, and hard work. He always believed that the American Dream was available to anyone, you just had to go for it.
He loved triathlons and proudly completed the Silverman Full Distance Triathlon (140.6 miles) in 2010. At the time, it was considered the world’s toughest. He was also a firefighter and led his fire-fighting team safely through many wildfire containments. Todd was always up for anything and had no fear. He especially loved the thrill of riding his motorcycle and was an exceptional motocross competitor. It was hard for anyone to keep up with him. He also enjoyed skiing, boating, and being in the mountains, where he could experience the beauty of this earth. Some of his favorite places were Lake Powell, the Teton and Wasatch mountains, and anywhere in the desert.
With his big heart came some challenges. He didn’t know how to feel on such a deep level without trying to dampen it. Sometimes it was just too much. He felt like he was given this challenge in order to help others. In fact, this spring he wrote a book about his life and addiction. He wrote it in two months with his thumbs on his cell phone and it is close to 700 pages. Todd felt like his whole life was leading up to finishing his book, which he titled, “Dear Addict.” Becoming an author was an accomplishment that he was most proud of. His mission in sobriety was to share his story with families and loved ones of people suffering from the disease of addiction, as well as with the addict. He felt that if the depth of addiction could be understood, real change could happen, and he wanted to be a part of that.
Todd was pure love. You would be hard pressed to find a more tender-hearted man. He loved everyone and always spoke positively of anyone he met or knew. He had an unconditional love for others that was to be admired. He was a family man, with a deep love for God, having been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints his entire life. He especially loved being a father and grandfather. He will be missed deeply by everyone, but we will find comfort in knowing he is now with his mother Jean Anderson, whom he loved and admired.
Preceded in death by his mother Jean Anderson; Todd leaves behind his loving wife, Stephanie Jo Anderson; three sons, Tyson (Brittany) Anderson, Brady Anderson, Ashton (Katie) Carroll; grandson, Zayne Todd Anderson; mothers of his sons, Sheri (Tyson & Brady) Nangle, Brenda (Ashton) Carroll; Father, Anthon Edward (Florence) Anderson III; brothers, Anthon Ed (Kimberly) Anderson IV, Andrew Anderson; foster brother, Thomas Nez (Heather); sisters, Shaunna (Lynn) Wall, Sherrill (Norm) Anderson, Abby (Brooke) Swenson; sister in law, Stacy Anderson; In-laws, Stan (Marti) Davis, Daphne (Sean) Hansen, Lori (Bryan) Bales; numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.
The viewing and mingling will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, located at 3651 S. 900 E. SLC, UT 84106.
An additional viewing will be held on Monday August 29, 2022, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 619 W. 5750 S. Murray, UT 84123.
The dedication of the grave will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Tonaquint Cemetery located at 1777 S. Dixie Drive St. George, UT 84770.
